European stocks close in negative territory

European stock exchanges closed Thursday in negative territory. The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 4.1 points, or 0.9%, to finish at 451.19. The UK’s FTSE 100 fell 46 points, or 0.63%, to end the session at 7,310. Germany’s DAX 30 was off 112 points, or 0.71%, to 15,676. France’s CAC 40 trimmed 68 points, or 0.94%, to 7,191. Italy’s FTSE MIB was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 290 points, or 1.03%, to 27,879 at the final bell. Spain’s IBEX 35 decreased 72 points, or 0.78%, to close at 9,278.
