Germany part way with football head coach Hansi Flick

The German Football Association (DFB) announced Sunday that it has relieved Germany's head coach Hansi Flick of his duties. His assistants Marcus Sorg and Danny Rohl also left their posts, the statement added. "The committee agreed that the German national team needs a fresh impetus after the recent disappointing results," the statement read, adding: "Going into the European Championship next summer, we need confidence and optimism in the country regarding our team." Flick led Bayern Munich to a "famous treble" by winning the German Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal (German Cup), and UEFA Champions League titles in the 2019-20 season. Veteran coach Louis Van Gaal and Liverpool's German manager Jurgen Klopp are among the rumored names to fill Flick's shoes.
