Colombia protests threaten water supply in Bogota

Colombia’s National Strike protests are threatening access to clean water for Bogota’s eight million inhabitants. The capital’s public utility company said that due to the road blockades caused by the strike, purifiers and other chemicals used in water treatment have not been able to arrive in the city. The company warned that if these supplies take time to arrive, there could be service problems in the coming days. “The Company will continue to make all necessary efforts to solve this situation and will inform citizens immediately when the delivery of supplies is normalized,” said the company General Manager, Cristina Arango.

Danish police use tear gas on protesters supporting Palestine

Danish police on dispersed a group of protesters gathered here in the capital on Friday to show solidarity with Palestine. The protest, which began at the Svanemollen train station with a small group that was planned to end at the Israeli Embassy via walking in corteges following speeches, saw a clash between demonstrators and police in front of the diplomatic building. Trkish charity helps nearly 1M people in 82 countries

As part of its Ramadan campaign, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) distributed food, hygiene packages and hot meals to nearly a million people in need across 82 countries. According to data released by the state-run charity, 137,000 food packages and 19,000 hygiene packages were distributed during the Muslim holy month. Also, 70,000 people were given meals as part of their Saints Table campaign across five continents. TIKA head Serkan Kayalar told Anadolu Agency the campaign is inspired by Anatolian values.
