Farah: At least 10 Afghan nationals were killed by Iranian border guards, Afghan officials confirmed. Mohammad Nasim Badri, spokesperson for the Farah security command in western Farah province, reported that the incident occurred on Monday night.

According to Anadolu Agency, Badri stated that “10 residents of this province were shot and killed by Iranian border guards last night while attempting to cross into Iran illegally.” The individuals involved were reportedly attempting to enter Iran through the Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi Port border point in search of employment opportunities.

Further details revealed that two additional individuals remain missing following the incident, and local authorities have launched an investigation. No immediate response or information has been provided by the Iranian side regarding the event.

In recent months, Iran has deported hundreds of Afghan refugees back to Afghanistan, a country still grappling with the effects of prolonged conflict and instability.
