13 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Army Fire Amid Ongoing Conflict in Gaza

Gaza Strip: At least 13 Palestinians, including individuals seeking humanitarian aid, were killed and numerous others injured by Israeli army fire in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, as reported by local media.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians waiting for food near an Israeli aid distribution center in the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza, resulting in three fatalities, as per the official news agency Wafa citing medical sources. Additionally, two people were killed and dozens injured by Israeli gunfire near another distribution center in Rafah, located in southern Gaza, Wafa reported.

In another incident, several people sustained injuries during an Israeli attack on civilians queuing for aid in the southern city of Khan Younis. Furthermore, seven civilians lost their lives in northern Gaza due to Israeli strikes targeting routes often used by aid-carrying trucks in the towns of Al-Sudaniya and Beit Lahia, as stated by a medical source to Anadolu.

Israeli artillery shelling also struck a residential apartment in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, claiming the life of a young Palestinian and injuring others. The ongoing conflict has seen Israel blocking the entry of humanitarian, food, and medical supplies into Gaza since March 2, leading to severe famine conditions and the near-collapse of the health care system.

Despite international appeals for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has continued its aggressive offensive against Gaza since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of nearly 55,400 Palestinians, predominantly women and children. In response to the situation, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing genocide charges at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
