South kordofan: At least 14 civilians were killed in artillery shelling by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan's South Kordofan state, a local medical group said Sunday. The Sudan Doctors Network reported that the victims included two women and five children in an attack that targeted the city of Dilling on Saturday night. The shelling also left 23 people injured, among them seven children.

According to Anadolu Agency, the attack focused on residential areas in the city, leading to a significant number of casualties amid challenging humanitarian and health conditions, exacerbated by a shortage of medical personnel. The group indicated that the city experienced heavy shelling for the second consecutive day by the RSF and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).

Dilling has been under siege by the paramilitary group for over two years. The Sudan Doctors Network has urged the international community and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to stop the RSF violations and provide protection for civilians in Sudan.

There was no response from the RSF regarding the report. The conflict between the Sudanese army and RSF, ongoing since April 2023 over plans to integrate the paramilitary force into the military, has led to one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, with tens of thousands killed and nearly 13 million people displaced.
