Gaza: The 14th humanitarian aid ship dispatched by Trkiye has successfully entered Gaza through the Rafah border gate, as announced by Trkiye’s disaster management agency on Sunday. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) confirmed that aid trucks loaded with essential supplies, such as tents and blankets, are currently making their way into Gaza.
According to Anadolu Agency, the aid shipment includes 10,460 tents, 14,350 blankets, 20 portable toilet and shower units, and 300 generators, amounting to a total of 871 tons of humanitarian assistance. The agency’s statement on platform X emphasized Trkiye’s dedication to standing with Palestine, highlighting the nation’s commitment to aiding those in need.
The relief efforts underscore Ankara’s ongoing support for the Palestinian people and its endeavors to mitigate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, a region severely impacted by Israeli military actions. The recent ceasefire, initiated on January 19, put an end to Israel’s conflict that resulted in the loss of more than 47,300 Palestinian lives, primarily involving women and children, and left over 111,400 individuals injured since October 7, 2023.
The devastating conflict has also left over 11,000 people unaccounted for, contributing to widespread devastation and a severe humanitarian emergency. This crisis has disproportionately affected the elderly and children, evolving into one of the most severe global humanitarian catastrophes.
In a significant development last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
