Aleppo: A donation campaign organized to support reconstruction efforts in Syria's Aleppo province has successfully raised $150 million, according to officials. The funds were collected on Thursday as part of a three-day campaign launched under the auspices of the Aleppo Governorate. The initiative aims to contribute to the rebuilding, development, and restoration of the city's infrastructure.

According to Anadolu Agency, Aleppo was one of the cities most heavily impacted by Syria's prolonged civil war, with its infrastructure, housing, and public services suffering extensive damage. The city remains in urgent need of comprehensive reconstruction and development to restore normalcy and improve living conditions for its residents.

The campaign in Aleppo follows similar efforts previously organized in other provinces. Despite no current threat posed by the Syrian government, Israeli forces have repeatedly entered Syrian territory, carrying out airstrikes that have resulted in civilian casualties and the destruction of Syrian military sites, vehicles, weapons, and ammunition.

Syrian government data indicates that since December 2024, Israel has conducted over 1,000 airstrikes in Syria, along with more than 400 cross-border raids into southern provinces. Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel expanded its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by seizing the demilitarized buffer zone, a move that violated a 1974 agreement with Syria.
