Gaza: Two Palestinians were killed and three others injured by Israeli army fire in southern Gaza on Monday, marking the latest violation of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement, medics reported.

According to Anadolu Agency, a medical source confirmed that the lives were lost in a drone strike targeting central Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip. Additionally, three individuals sustained injuries following a missile attack in the western region of Khan Younis, also in southern Gaza.

The escalation of Israeli military actions across Gaza began on Sunday, coinciding with the conclusion of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. That day, four Palestinians were reported killed in similar Israeli attacks within the Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, the Israeli government suspended the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined to initiate negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire deal. The agreement had temporarily halted Israel's extensive military operations in Gaza, which have resulted in over 48,380 deaths, predominantly affecting women and children, and left the region in devastation.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its actions in the besieged enclave.
