Antrona schieranco: Two people were killed when a small aircraft crashed in Italy's northern Piedmont region, as reported by Italian news outlet TG24. The incident took place around 11:30 am local time near the Campliccioli dam in Antrona Schieranco.

According to Anadolu Agency, the victims were a 64-year-old engineer from Premeno and a 63-year-old friend from the Milan area, both of whom died instantly. The aircraft involved was identified as an autogyro, a type of rotorcraft where the engine provides forward thrust and the rotor turns through autorotation.

The crash occurred when the aircraft struck cables belonging to the Enel cable car system serving the dam, subsequently catching fire. Firefighters, supported by the Drago helicopter, were dispatched for rescue and firefighting operations.

Witnesses from the nearby village of Antrona reported seeing the aircraft engulfed in flames, describing it as 'a ball of fire.'
