2 Palestinians Suffer Injuries in Separate Attacks by Israeli Forces and Settlers in West Bank

Jericho: Two Palestinians were injured in separate incidents involving illegal Israeli settlers and army forces in the occupied West Bank, reported a rights group and medics.

According to Anadolu Agency, a Palestinian man, Ahmed Mohammed Ghawanmeh, was wounded when illegal settlers attacked him with stones near Jericho. The Bedouin rights group Al-Baidar revealed that the settlers blocked Ghawanmeh’s car, assaulted him, and damaged his vehicle, resulting in bruises and other injuries.

The Palestinian government’s Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that illegal settlers have conducted 7,154 attacks in the West Bank since October 2023. These attacks have led to the deaths of 33 Palestinians and the displacement of 33 communities. Combined actions by settlers and the army have resulted in at least 1,072 Palestinian deaths and approximately 10,700 injuries during the same timeframe.

In a separate incident, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that an 18-year-old man was shot by Israeli forces during clashes in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus. The injured individual received medical attention and was transferred to a hospital. Local sources informed Anadolu that the clashes erupted following a raid by Israeli forces in the town, leading to confrontations where troops used live fire, tear gas, and stun grenades, while residents retaliated by throwing stones.

In a significant ruling last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories illegal, urging the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
