Khartoum: A Sudanese medical group has accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of killing 38 civilians in a village in North Kordofan state. The Sudan Doctors Network reported that the civilians were summarily executed by RSF forces in Umm Dam Haj Ahmed in central Sudan.

According to Anadolu Agency, the network described the killings as indicative of the RSF's policy of targeted identity-based killings across Sudan. The network labeled this act as part of a broader campaign of ethnic cleansing and genocide perpetrated by the RSF against civilians in North Kordofan and Darfur, amidst what they termed as international silence and complicity.

The medical group has urged the international community and the UN Security Council to intervene immediately to halt the RSF's actions and hold its leaders accountable. There has been no response from the RSF regarding these allegations.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that around 1,850 Sudanese have fled their homes from North Kordofan, with 1,000 originating from the Umm Dam Haj Ahmed area due to increasing insecurity. The RSF claimed control over the town, following the capture of El-Fasher, a strategic city in the Darfur region.

Reports from various local and international organizations have surfaced, detailing mass killings and ethnic cleansing by the RSF in El-Fasher. The RSF, however, denied allegations of executing over 400 patients and healthcare workers in a hospital in the city.

The World Health Organization has verified that since the conflict began in 2023, over 1,200 health workers and patients have been killed and 416 injured in 185 RSF attacks. The ongoing conflict, which started on April 15, 2023, between the army and the RSF, has led to approximately 20,000 deaths and displaced over 15 million people, as reported by UN and local sources.
