Istanbul: The third Trkiye-China Business Conference was held in Istanbul on Saturday, with representatives from the business communities of both countries and a large delegation of businesspeople in attendance.
According to Anadolu Agency, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat highlighted the participation of Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). He emphasized the significance of the meeting as Trkiye and China mark 55 years of diplomatic relations. Bolat expressed hopes that the conference would lead to concrete partnerships, new investments, and agreements that would enhance the quality of mutual trade.
Chinese Ambassador to Trkiye Jiang Xuebin underscored the importance of the conference as a platform for exchanging ideas on advancing economic and trade relations. He mentioned Chinese President Xi Jinping's global initiatives, which propose a path of development that is open, inclusive, equitable, balanced, and mutually beneficial.
Xuebin noted that China is Trkiye's largest trading partner, with Chinese companies contributing to Trkiye's economic and social development through employment and tax revenues.
Wang Kang, vice president of the Export-Import Bank of China, stated that Trkiye is China's fourth-largest trading partner in West Asia and third-largest export market. China, in turn, is Trkiye's second-largest trading partner and largest source of imports. He emphasized the importance of cooperation with Trkiye, noting that the country is among China's top five investment destinations in West Asia.
