Gaza city: At least 42 people were killed, and scores injured Thursday in renewed Israeli attacks across the war-torn Gaza Strip, according to medics and witnesses.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli forces struck a civilian gathering in western Gaza City, resulting in the death of one Palestinian and injuries to others. Three additional Palestinians were killed in airstrikes targeting northwestern Gaza City, while four family members lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian woman was killed by Israeli gunfire in Hamad Town, Khan Younis. Witnesses reported that Israeli artillery shelled several areas near the town.

The Israeli army also conducted a strike on a group of civilians at Gaza's port, west of the city, killing three Palestinians, including a couple, and wounding others. In the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in northwestern Gaza City, two family members were killed in another strike on a civilian gathering.

Medical sources informed Anadolu that an additional 26 Palestinians were killed across Gaza City, though the details could not be documented due to an ongoing blackout of internet and phone services. In Khan Younis, rescue teams recovered the body of a Palestinian killed in an earlier strike, while another person in central Gaza died from previously sustained wounds.

The fatalities occurred as the Israeli army continued detonating homes and residential buildings via booby-trapped devices amid heavy bombardment on northwestern Gaza City, as reported by an Anadolu correspondent.

The attacks occurred during a communication and internet blackout imposed by Israel for a second consecutive day, escalating fear and a sense of isolation among Palestinians. The Israeli army has continued a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of more than 65,100 Palestinians since October 2023. The military campaign has severely devastated the enclave, which is currently facing famine.
