Riverton: A 6.3 magnitude earthquake on Monday hit 208 kilometers (nearly 129 miles) off Riverton, New Zealand, at 1253GMT, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said. The tremor was recorded at a depth of 10.0 km, with its epicenter located at 47.22 degrees south latitude and 165.60 degrees east longitude.

According to Anadolu Agency, Australia's Bureau of Meteorology has assessed the quake at a slightly higher magnitude of 6.5. Despite the significant magnitude, officials have indicated that there appears to be no risk of a tsunami as a result of the seismic activity.

As of now, there have been no reports of casualties or damage to property. Emergency services and authorities remain on alert to monitor the situation and ensure public safety.
