Cheongju: At least six people were injured, including a teacher, in a stabbing attack Monday at a high school in South Korea, Yonhap News Agency reported. The incident unfolded in Cheongju city, approximately 110 kilometers south of Seoul, where a special education student attacked individuals with a knife.

According to Anadolu Agency, the victims were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to serious, affecting the face, abdomen, and other areas. Officials have confirmed that none of the victims are in critical condition.

The student, part of the school's special education program, attempted to flee by jumping into a nearby reservoir after the attack but was subsequently rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment. Police and education authorities are actively investigating the incident and are interviewing witnesses to ascertain the motive behind the attack.

In a related incident earlier this year, a teacher fatally stabbed an 8-year-old girl at an elementary school in Daejeon, South Korea's fifth-largest city.
