6 Killed, 24 Injured in Israeli Airstrikes on Residential Areas in Beirut

Beirut: Six people were killed and 24 injured in Israeli airstrikes early Wednesday on residential apartments in central Beirut, according to Lebanon's Health Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, Lebanon's Emergency Operations Center at the ministry reported that the preliminary toll resulted from two Israeli strikes on apartments in the Zoqaq al-Blat and Basta al-Fawqa areas of the capital. Rescue teams recovered human remains from the sites of the strikes, with authorities indicating that the identities of the victims will be determined through DNA testing.

Two Israeli airstrikes also targeted Beirut's southern suburbs. The Israeli army had ordered residents of the southern Lebanese city of Tyre and nearby Palestinian refugee camps to evacuate on Tuesday. The army warned it would target sites it claimed were used by the Hezbollah group.
