Tabriz: Six people were killed in US-Israeli airstrikes in Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz, Iranian authorities said on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Majid Farshi, director of Crisis Management in Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province, reported that the airstrikes targeted both Tabriz and the nearby area of Azarshahr late Tuesday. Farshi stated, “Six civilians were killed in an enemy attack on Tabriz and the Azarshahr area Tuesday evening,” and mentioned that further information regarding those wounded would be disclosed later.

In a separate report, Iranian media indicated that explosions were heard in the city of Qom, but did not provide additional details concerning the nature of the blasts or the number of casualties.

Since the US and Israel initiated a joint offensive on February 28, Iranian authorities have reported over 1,200 deaths, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and more than 10,000 injuries. In response, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military facilities.
