Gaza strip: Eight people were killed and over 28 injured in Israeli army fire that targeted civilians waiting for aid delivery in the central Gaza Strip.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army opened fire on aid-seekers in an aid distribution site near the Netzarim Corridor, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to eight others. Medical sources confirmed the incident.

In another tragic event, a statement from a local commission of ambulance and emergency services reported that three people were killed and more than 20 injured by Israeli fire while waiting for aid delivery at another distribution point in northern Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.

According to the latest figures released by the Health Ministry, at least 1,179 people have been killed and over 7,950 injured by Israeli army fire while seeking aid in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has continued its offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023. The ongoing bombardment has killed over 60,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, and has resulted in the destruction of the enclave and severe food shortages.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
