Sidon: An Israeli airstrike on the Fawar area near the southern Lebanese city of Sidon resulted in the deaths of eight people and injuries to nine others, as reported by Lebanon's Health Ministry.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry's Emergency Operations Center issued a statement noting that the strike led to "an initial toll of eight citizens killed and nine injured," as confirmed by the National News Agency (NNA).
Hezbollah began targeting Israeli military sites on March 2 in reaction to ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, which persisted despite a ceasefire enacted in November 2024 and the assassination of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran.
Israel expanded its military operations the same day, conducting airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburbs and various regions in southern and eastern Lebanon. Additionally, on March 3, Israel initiated a limited ground incursion into southern Lebanon, coinciding with the start of a joint campaign with the United States against Iran on February 28.
