ISTAT said Wednesday that the number of people in employment in Italy increased by 45,000 in August with respect to July to reach 24.8 million. The number of people in employment was up by 494,000 compared to August 2023, up 2.1%, the statistics bureau added. On a monthly basis, the increase in employment (+0.2%) affected men and all age groups except those aged 35-49, for whom a decline in employment was observed, as well as for women. Overall, the employment rate remained unchanged at 62.3%, ISTAT said. Source: Ansa News Agency
