Baalbek: The death toll from Israeli airstrikes targeting Lebanon's eastern city of Baalbek and surrounding villages has risen to 11, with 14 others injured, as reported by the Lebanese official news agency. According to Anadolu Agency, the strikes began with an attack on a home in the village of Buday, resulting in the deaths of a man, his wife, and their two children. Israeli forces continued their airstrikes on residential areas, significantly affecting the town of Makneh, where six members of a single family were killed and six others sustained injuries. The agency reported further airstrikes at the southern entrance of Baalbek, where a home was destroyed, leading to the death of a woman and injuries to five others. A nearby strike in the village of Douris caused extensive damage to homes, businesses, and public infrastructure, with three individuals suffering minor injuries. The Lebanese agency emphasized the wider impact of the Israeli airstrikes on Baalbek-Hermel and Central Bekaa, with a total of 1 ,035 individual strikes recorded so far. These have resulted in 528 fatalities and 1,069 injuries across the region. Israel commenced a massive air campaign last month in Lebanon, targeting what it identifies as Hezbollah positions amidst a year of heightened cross-border conflict with the group, following the onset of Israel's offensive on Gaza. Lebanese health authorities report that nearly 2,900 people have been killed and over 13,000 injured in Israeli attacks since last October.
