8 Lebanese Killed in Israeli Airstrikes on Southern and Eastern Regions.

Beirut: At least eight Lebanese were killed on Thursday and three others injured in Israeli airstrikes on towns in southern and eastern Lebanon. According to Anadolu Agency, the Lebanese state news agency NNA reported that four people were killed and three others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a home in Bazourieh town, near Tyre city in southern Lebanon. Israeli warplanes also targeted the southern towns of Sultaniyeh, Deyrintar, Jmaijmeh, Borgholiyeh, Majdal Selm, and others. NNA further reported that a Lebanese woman was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting Harfouche town in the Baalbek district of eastern Lebanon. Additionally, three more individuals lost their lives in another airstrike on a vehicle near a Lebanese army checkpoint at the northern entrance to Sidon in southern Lebanon. The agency noted that the strike also injured members of the UN peacekeeping mission (UNIFIL) as their vehicles passed near the targeted car. However, no information was available about the identities of those in the vehicle or the reason for the strike. The Israeli air campaign in Lebanon has been ongoing since late September, targeting what it claims are Hezbollah positions, marking an escalation in the year-long cross-border warfare since the onset of the Gaza war. More than 3,000 people have been killed and over 13,500 injured in Israeli attacks since October 2023, according to Lebanese health authorities.
