Paris: Rima Hassan, a Palestinian-origin member of the European Parliament representing France's left-wing La France Insoumise (LFI) party, has expressed strong disapproval towards Sciences Po University in Paris for canceling her scheduled conference this Friday. Hassan labeled the university's decision as "unacceptable," emphasizing her discontent with the cancellation. According to Anadolu Agency, Hassan revealed in a statement on X that the event, initially planned for November 22, was halted by the university administration. The university cited potential "disruption to public order" as the reason behind the cancellation. Hassan criticized this move as an attempt to silence voices that condemn the ongoing genocide in Gaza, reiterating her view of the decision as "unacceptable." This incident is not isolated, as Hassan has encountered multiple cancellations of her events at French universities since the beginning of Israel's military actions in Gaza. Her outspoken pro-Palestinian stance has also led to her being summoned by French police on accusations of "terror propaganda."
