Ankara: Trkiye's foreign minister has expressed strong support for the recent actions taken by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a former defense minister. The ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, which the Turkish minister described as a significant step towards achieving justice. According to Anadolu Agency, Hakan Fidan, Trkiye's foreign minister, made these remarks on X, emphasizing the importance of this decision in addressing the alleged genocide against Palestinians. Fidan highlighted that the arrest warrants are a crucial move in holding Israeli officials accountable for their actions in the Gaza Strip. Fidan further stated that Trkiye is committed to enforcing international law and ensuring that those responsible for genocide are punished. He underscored the duty to seek justice not only for the Palestinians but also for oppressed communities worldwide and future generations. The ICC's decision to issue arrest warrants is linked to accusations of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip. The ongoing conflict in the region, which has entered its second year, has resulted in the deaths of approximately 44,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, and left over 103,000 injured. The situation in Gaza remains dire, with the Israeli offensive leading to the displacement of nearly the entire population. The blockade has caused severe shortages of essential supplies, pushing the territory's inhabitants to the verge of starvation.
