Paris: France will continue supporting the International Criminal Court's actions against Israel, the French Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced Thursday following the court's new arrest warrants for Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. According to Anadolu Agency, the court guarantees 'international stability' and must be able to act 'in all situations independently and impartially,' Christophe Lemoine stated at a news conference in Paris. He emphasized France's support for the ICC prosecutor's actions, noting that the fight against impunity is a priority for France. "We bring continued support to the ICC's action, our reaction will align with those principles," he added. Lemoine also acknowledged the legal complexities surrounding the warrants but refrained from commenting on whether France would implement them. This comes after the Hague court issued landmark arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, accusing them of war crimes in Palestinian territori es, including Gaza. The warrants were announced as Israel's offensive in Gaza entered its second year, with reports indicating that some 44,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, have been killed and over 103,000 injured. The onslaught has also led to the displacement of nearly the entire population of Gaza, exacerbated by a blockade causing severe shortages of essential supplies and pushing the populace towards starvation.
