Istanbul: Afghanistan wants to build and strengthen effective economic and trade relations with neighboring countries, the region, and the world through Islamic finance and halal (lawful) trade, the Afghan minister of industry and commerce said Wednesday. Nooruddin Azizi announced these objectives at the World Halal Summit, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the agricultural sector, developing infrastructure, supporting the domestic industry, maintaining financial stability, encouraging domestic and foreign investment, and providing benefits to all stakeholders. According to Anadolu Agency, the four-day summit in Istanbul, of which Anadolu is the global communication partner, hosts seminars focused on halal-related topics to raise awareness. Azizi described the summit as one of the largest trade events in the Islamic world and noted its significance as a platform to cement global halal trade. He emphasized that the halal industry, halal trade, and halal products serve not only the Islamic world or M uslims but also all of humanity. Azizi highlighted Afghanistan's commitment to the halal industry and trade, stating that the country has actively participated in the event with a delegation of officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the private sector. Over time, he believes the world will increasingly appreciate the advantages of the halal industry and trade. He also reassured local and international investors about the safety of investing in Afghanistan, highlighting the strong economic, cultural, and social relations between Afghanistan and Trkiye, both Muslim and brotherly countries. Azizi expressed Afghanistan's aim to introduce halal products and services to global markets and attract foreign investment, particularly from Trkiye, a friendly and brotherly nation.
