BEIT LIF: Israeli forces staged an incursion into the town of Beit Lif in southern Lebanon on Thursday, marking the first advance toward the town since a cease-fire agreement came into effect. The move, described by Lebanese media as a violation of the cease-fire deal, involved a patrol backed by tanks, military vehicles, and a bulldozer, according to reports.
According to Anadolu Agency, the incursion into Beit Lif, located in the Bint Jbeil district, is the latest in a series of breaches, bringing the total number of Israeli violations of the cease-fire to 336. The cease-fire agreement, which came into force on November 27, requires Israel to withdraw its forces south of the Blue Line, a de facto border, in phases. Concurrently, the Lebanese army is tasked with deploying in southern Lebanon within 60 days.
Data from the Lebanese Health Ministry highlights the ongoing impact of the conflict, reporting that since the onset of Israel's actions against Lebanon on October 8, 2023, at least 4,063 people have been killed. The casualties include women, children, and health workers, with an additional 16,664 individuals injured. The humanitarian toll underscores the continued tensions and challenges in enforcing the cease-fire agreement.
