Gaza: Palestinian medics and rescue teams recovered 28 more bodies from the rubble in the Gaza Strip, pushing the overall death toll from Israel's war since October 2023 to 47,583, the Health Ministry said on Thursday. A ministry statement noted that the toll included one person who succumbed to his injuries and two others shot dead by Israeli forces.

According to Anadolu Agency, four injured people were also admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of injured individuals to 111,633 in the Israeli onslaught. The ministry highlighted that many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers face challenges reaching them.

Figures released by the ministry indicate that approximately 562 bodies have been recovered from the rubble since a ceasefire deal took effect in Gaza on January 19. The agreement ended the Israeli war that caused significant destruction and left the Palestinian enclave devastated.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
