EU Foreign Policy Chief Reaffirms Support in Meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister

Brussels: EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Thursday, emphasizing the European Union's unwavering commitment to supporting Ukraine amid ongoing conflict.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kallas expressed solidarity with Ukraine during the meeting, highlighting that the EU will continue to back Kyiv's efforts to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Kallas shared on social media platform X, "This morning, I met with Minister of Defence of Ukraine, @rustem_umerov. Minister Umerov assured me that Ukrainians are standing firm and will not give up their freedom and territory."

The discussions come at a crucial time as the US and Russia prepare for talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, which is approaching its third anniversary. US President Donald Trump has recently engaged in conversations with both Russian and Ukrainian leaders, expressing his determination to conclude what he described as a "ridiculous" war.
