Kyiv: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has engaged in a series of discussions with prominent officials from the US, France, Poland, and other nations as Ukraine approaches the third anniversary of Russia's military aggression.
According to Anadolu Agency, Sybiha's dialogue with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio underscored Ukraine's commitment to achieving a 'comprehensive, just, and lasting peace,' emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties between Kyiv and Washington. During his conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, Sybiha expressed gratitude for France's support in Ukraine's efforts to defend its freedom, justice, and territorial integrity.
Sybiha also extended his appreciation to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas for the European Union's steadfast support of Ukraine. In his conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, Sybiha thanked Norway for its unwavering support. Additionally, he engaged with his counterparts from Czech, Estonia, Botswana, Finland, Poland, Nepal, Guinea, and Mauritius.
Despite these diplomatic efforts, Ukraine and European nations have been notably absent from the ongoing discussions between the US and Russia, led by former President Donald Trump, aimed at ending the three-year-long conflict. Recent meetings between US and Russian delegations in Saudi Arabia have resulted in an agreement to initiate a preliminary process to commence direct negotiations.
