China Rejects US Gaza Proposal, Supports Arab-Led Peace Plan

Beijing: China has dismissed a proposal by US President Donald Trump concerning the governance of Gaza, opting instead to support an Arab-led peace initiative. According to Xinhua News Agency, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced China's backing for the peace plan initiated by Egypt and other Arab nations. Wang emphasized that Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people and is an inseparable part of Palestinian territory. He cautioned that any attempt to forcibly alter Gaza's status could lead to further instability.

In other significant news, South Korea has seen a major legal development.

According to Anadolu Agency, impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol was released from a detention center following a decision by a Seoul court. The court accepted Yoon's plea to cancel his arrest related to his failed attempt to impose martial law on December 3. Yoon was indicted on charges of leading an insurgency but will face trial without being detained.

Meanwhile, in Israel, major military decisions have been made regarding the West Bank. According to the Israel Hayom daily, Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the military to maintain a presence in northern West Bank refugee camps until at least the end of the year. Katz stated that over 40,000 residents have been evacuated from camps such as Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams, and emphasized the necessity of continued military presence in these areas.
