Turkish Foreign Minister to Attend Regional Security Meeting in Amman

Amman: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend a regional security meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Sunday, according to Turkish diplomatic sources. The meeting will gather foreign and defense ministers, chiefs of general staff, and intelligence heads from Trkiye, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan will be joined by Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Turkish Intelligence Organization (MIT) head Ibrahim Kalin. The delegation will engage in talks aimed at enhancing cooperation in security and counterterrorism, as well as efforts to combat organized crime. Discussions will also touch on broader regional dynamics that affect these countries.

Fidan, Guler, and Kalin are not new to such high-level discussions, having previously convened with their Syrian counterparts on January 15 in Ankara, Jordanian counterparts on January 6 in Ankara, and Iraqi counterparts on March 14 in Baghdad. These meetings underscore the ongoing commitment to regional stability and cooperation among the participating nations.
