Ankara: A meeting between Trkiye, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria has commenced in Jordan's capital, Amman, bringing together the foreign and defense ministers, intelligence chiefs, and military leaders of the five nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trkiye's delegation includes Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Guler, and National Intelligence Organization (MIT) chief Ibrahim Kalin. This gathering is significant as it marks a concerted effort to enhance regional security and address mutual concerns among the nations involved.

Later in the day, a joint press conference is anticipated where the foreign ministers of the five countries will outline the outcomes of their discussions. The agenda of the meeting is centered on cooperation in security, counterterrorism, and combating organized crime, while also covering broader regional dynamics.

Trkiye places significant importance on collaborating with neighboring countries to tackle security challenges both within and beyond its borders. This meeting builds on previous engagements, as Fidan, Guler, and Kalin have held similar discussions with their Syrian counterparts in Ankara on January 15, with Jordanian officials on January 6, and with Iraqi representatives in Baghdad on March 14.

The ongoing discussions aim to foster comprehensive cooperation and seek viable solutions to pressing regional issues. According to a statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the officials from Trkiye and Jordan have engaged in talks with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Yousef Huneiti, and Jordanian head of intelligence Ahmad Husni.
