Gaza City: Thousands of Palestinians fled the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun on Tuesday following Israeli evacuation orders amid deadly airstrikes on the war-torn territory.

According to Anadolu Agency, civilians began to move from Beit Hanoun in the early morning toward the nearby town of Jabalia in search of safety. The Israeli army issued orders for Palestinian civilians in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza and in the southern towns of Khuza'a and Abasan to immediately evacuate, labeling these areas as 'dangerous combat zones.'

The Israeli army's spokesman, Avichay Adraee, emphasized on his X account for civilians to evacuate to known shelters in western Gaza City and Khan Younis for their safety. This comes in the wake of intensified airstrikes that shattered a ceasefire agreement established on January 19.

The strikes on Gaza resulted in the death of over 400 individuals and left hundreds injured, with images indicating that the majority of the casualties were civilians, including women and children, who were caught in the bombings overnight.

Since October 2023, more than 48,500 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have been killed, and over 112,000 others have been injured due to the ongoing Israeli military campaign in Gaza. The situation has drawn international scrutiny, with the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants in November last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
