Thailand ‘Profoundly Concerned’ Over Israel’s Renewed War on Gaza

Bangkok: Thailand said on Friday that it is 'profoundly concerned' over Israel's renewed war on Gaza, calling for a cease to the 'hostilities.'

According to Anadolu Agency, Thailand expressed its deep concern and disappointment over the return to hostilities in the Gaza Strip since March 18, 2025. The renewed conflict has resulted in heavy casualties among innocent civilians, injuries, and severe damage to critical infrastructure and public utilities, as stated by Thailand's Foreign Ministry.

Bangkok urged all parties involved to exercise utmost restraint, cease hostilities, and resume negotiations to implement the ceasefire and hostage agreement. The call also emphasized the need for facilitating humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

The Foreign Ministry specifically requested the release of the remaining hostages in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the urgency for the release of one Thai national and the retrieval of the bodies of two Thai nationals.

Since Tuesday, more than 700 Palestinians have been killed and over 900 injured due to Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. This escalation has shattered a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January.

Since October 2023, Israel's military actions on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of nearly 50,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, with over 112,000 injured.

In November of the previous year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice due to its actions in the enclave.
