Moscow: Russia claimed Tuesday that it took control of two more settlements in its offensive in eastern Ukraine. The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces captured the village of Myrne, about 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) northeast of Lyman in the eastern Donetsk region.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Russian Defense Ministry later reported that its forces in the Zaporizhzhia region also took control of the village of Mali Shcherbaky, situated 44 kilometers (27 miles) southeast of the region's administrative center.

The developments come as part of Russia's ongoing military operations in Ukraine, aiming to consolidate control in the eastern parts of the country. The strategic capture of these settlements may impact the ongoing conflict dynamics in the region.
