Gaza: The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) on Saturday warned of another humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip following the collapse of the ceasefire last month.

According to Anadolu Agency, the UNRWA marked Palestinian Children's Day by highlighting the severe impact of the ceasefire collapse, noting that it caused another wave of displacement impacting over 142,000 people between March 18 and 23.

Since the onset of the war in Gaza, approximately 1.9 million people, including many children, have experienced repeated forced displacement amid ongoing bombardment, fear, and loss. The ceasefire collapse has exacerbated the humanitarian situation, as Israel resumed its attacks on March 18, ending a two-month truce.

The conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with more than 50,600 Palestinians killed in the enclave since October 2023, the majority of whom were women and children. The situation has drawn international legal attention, with the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its military actions in the enclave, further complicating the already dire humanitarian and political landscape in the region.
