Antalya: Bangladesh's top officials, including the Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam and foreign affairs adviser to the interim government, Touhid Hossain, commended the relationship with Trkiye and voiced their intention to enhance ties at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

According to Anadolu Agency, Alam emphasized the potential for strengthening ties between the two nations, stating that the Bangladeshi government is eager to explore new opportunities. He mentioned that Trkiye's investment and cooperation are expected to progress rapidly, highlighting the mutual interest in expanding relations.

Alam also indicated that discussions among Muslim nations and other countries would occur during a UN Summit in September, focusing on the situation of Rohingya refugees who have fled to Bangladesh from Myanmar. He noted that seminars would be conducted to guide future actions regarding the refugees. Alam expressed plans for meetings with Turkish delegates to discuss this issue further.

Hossain echoed Alam's sentiments, emphasizing the strong bond between the people of Bangladesh and Trkiye. He stated that the Bangladeshi interim government is determined to maximize relations with Ankara, seeking to diversify areas of cooperation and elevate them to new levels. Regarding the Rohingya refugees, Hossain mentioned that Dhaka intends to collaborate with Ankara to facilitate the refugees' return.

Hossain expressed optimism about the future relationship between the two countries, hoping for closer ties in the coming days. The three-day Antalya Diplomacy Forum began on Friday in southern Trkiye, focusing on the theme "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World."
