Gaza City: At least 67 Palestinians were killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday as Tel Aviv's offensive continued on the enclave, medics said.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that 24 people lost their lives and many others were injured in a strike on a family home in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Additionally, ten people, including women and children, were killed in two separate airstrikes on homes in the town of Jabalia in northern Gaza, as reported by the official news agency Wafa, citing medical sources.
Medics retrieved the bodies of three individuals from the rubble of a destroyed home in the Shejaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City. Israeli strikes also resulted in the deaths of 14 people in various parts of Gaza City, according to medical sources. The bodies of seven people were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital following a drone strike targeting civilians in northern Gaza City.
In the southern city of Khan Younis, Israeli army forces opened fire on Palestinians heading to an aid distribution center, resulting in three deaths and several injuries, according to a medical source. A man and his pregnant wife were killed by a drone strike on a group of civilians in the same city. The body of another Palestinian was found in the rubble, and another individual was killed by a strike on a house in the town of Abasan in Khan Younis.
In central Gaza, two people, including a 13-year-old child, were killed in a strike on a tent for displaced people in the city of Deir al-Balah, according to witnesses. The Israeli army's ongoing offensive in Gaza, which began in October 2023, has led to the deaths of over 54,200 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children. Aid agencies have raised concerns about the potential risk of famine for the enclave's population of more than 2 million.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions against civilians in the enclave.
