Tel Aviv: Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened on Saturday to 'burn Tehran' if Iran continues launching missiles at Israeli territory. Katz's statement was made during a high-level security assessment attended by Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Mossad Director David Barnea, and other senior military officials.

According to Anadolu Agency, Katz accused Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei of turning Iranian citizens into hostages, warning that Tehran residents would pay a heavy price if the missile attacks persist. "If Khamenei continues to fire missiles at the Israeli home front, Tehran will burn," Katz declared.

The security assessment followed comments from Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and Air Force Commander Tomer Bar, who announced that "the path to Iran is paved," indicating plans for new airstrikes on Tehran. They detailed that Israeli Air Force planes would target strategic locations in the Iranian capital.

On Friday, Israel launched a large-scale airstrike against Iran, focusing on nuclear sites and missile bases, resulting in the deaths of senior military commanders and nuclear scientists. In retaliation, Iran responded with a series of missile and drone attacks, which Israeli media reported resulted in the deaths of three Israelis and injuries to 172 others.
