Astana: China's President Xi Jinping on Tuesday engaged in a series of meetings with Central Asian leaders in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The event marked the 2nd Central Asia-China Summit, hosted by Kazakhstan.

According to Anadolu Agency, Xi held separate discussions with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During these meetings, Xi emphasized the importance of advancing the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, urging Kyrgyzstan to collaborate on opposing unilateral actions and safeguarding the international economic and trade order to promote a more just and equitable global governance system.

In response, Japarov expressed Kyrgyzstan's support for three major global initiatives proposed by Xi. During his discussion with Rahmon, Xi reiterated China's support for Tajikistan's efforts to protect its national independence, sovereignty, and security.

Additionally, on Monday, Xi met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The leaders agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including energy, aerospace, digitalization, agriculture, tourism, medicine, media, and science.
