Moscow: Russia announced that it has engaged in discussions with the United States regarding the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. This dialogue took place at specialized international platforms amidst rising military tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv.

According to Anadolu Agency, regional tensions surged after Israel launched airstrikes on various sites across Iran, targeting military and nuclear facilities. In retaliation, Iran responded with missile attacks. Israeli officials reported that these attacks have resulted in at least 24 deaths and hundreds of injuries within their territory. Meanwhile, Iranian authorities claimed that 224 individuals were killed and over 1,000 injured due to the Israeli assaults.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov informed journalists in Moscow that the issue of Iran has been a topic of conversation with American representatives. These discussions have been occurring at international multilateral platforms in recent days. Ryabkov emphasized the alarming nature of the situation and confirmed that the Foreign Ministry is closely following developments and maintaining communication with the involved parties.

Ryabkov stated that Iran is exercising its right to self-defense and urged Israel to demonstrate "restraint and common sense," especially considering the potential threats posed by strikes on nuclear facilities. He conveyed Russia's appeal to the Israeli leadership, indicating that future developments depend significantly on their actions.

The deputy foreign minister expressed concern about the risks to Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant amidst the hostilities. Despite the cancellation of the US-Iran nuclear talks in Oman, Ryabkov stressed the necessity of pursuing a political and diplomatic resolution. He warned against an escalation of force, advocating instead for a return to negotiations to mitigate serious consequences.
