Jerusalem: Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced that Iran's capacity to develop a nuclear weapon has been hindered by "at least two to three years," amidst ongoing tensions between the two nations. In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, Sa'ar emphasized Israel's commitment to countering the threat from Iran's nuclear ambitions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the interview took place against the backdrop of diplomatic talks in Geneva involving Iran, Germany, France, and the UK. Sa'ar reiterated Israel's dedication to mitigating the risks posed by Iran's nuclear program, although he noted that regime change in Iran has not yet been established as a goal by the Israeli Security Cabinet. "The Security Cabinet has not yet defined regime change as a goal in this war. At least not yet," Sa'ar remarked.

Sa'ar expressed doubt regarding the effectiveness of diplomatic efforts with Iran, stating, "I don't really believe in diplomacy with Iran. All previous diplomatic efforts have been unsuccessful." His comments came as European diplomats underscored the need for ongoing dialogue with Iran, following discussions in Geneva aimed at reducing regional tensions and restoring negotiations on Tehran's nuclear endeavors.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held meetings with his counterparts from the UK, France, and Germany, along with Kaja Kallas, the EU foreign policy chief, as part of these efforts.
