Tel Aviv: The Israeli military announced on Friday that its air force conducted airstrikes on multiple military facilities and a nuclear research site in Iran overnight. This operation comes in response to missile attacks from Iran targeting southern Israel, specifically the Nevatim Air Base in the Negev Desert.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli military sources confirmed that over 60 fighter jets participated in the overnight operation in Tehran, deploying approximately 120 munitions to target military objectives. Among the sites hit was the headquarters of Iran's Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND), known for its role in developing advanced weapons and military technologies. Additionally, four drones launched from Iran towards Israel were intercepted.

The current hostilities began last Friday when Israel initiated airstrikes against several Iranian sites, which included military and nuclear facilities. This prompted a series of retaliatory strikes from Tehran. Since the onset of these clashes, Israeli authorities have reported at least 25 fatalities and hundreds of injuries caused by Iranian missile attacks.

In contrast, Iranian media reports indicate that 639 individuals have been killed and over 1,300 have been wounded due to the Israeli assaults. The escalation in violence marks a significant increase in tension between the two nations.
