Israel Targets Third Hospital in Tehran Amid Ongoing Conflict

Tehran: Israel targeted another hospital in Tehran early Friday, raising the total number of hospitals struck in the capital to three, according to a spokesman for Iran's Health Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour stated that the hospital was hit by rockets from Israel at 4:45 a.m. on June 20, 2021. He noted that this marks the third hospital in Tehran to be attacked in the ongoing conflict. Additionally, six ambulances and a comprehensive health service center have been attacked in the recent hostilities.

Kermanpour emphasized the breach of international conventions over the past seven days, attributing these violations to the actions of Israel. The conflict began last Friday when Israel conducted airstrikes on various sites in Iran, targeting military and nuclear facilities. This prompted a series of retaliatory strikes from Tehran.

Israeli authorities have reported that at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured due to Iranian missile attacks. Conversely, Iranian media reports indicate that 639 people have been killed and over 1,300 wounded as a result of the Israeli assaults.
