The Hague: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday stated that Iran and Israel are currently "exhausted" after engaging in intense and violent conflict. However, he cautioned that the hostilities could potentially resume in the future. During a press conference at the NATO summit, Trump expressed optimism that the fighting had ceased, but he also acknowledged the possibility of future confrontations between the two nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump highlighted the pivotal role of US military intervention in the cessation of hostilities. He claimed that the conflict effectively ended when American forces launched strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. "I think the war ended actually, when we hit the various nuclear sites with the planes," Trump remarked, suggesting that the targeted operations played a significant role in halting the conflict.

Trump further elaborated on the impact of the US strikes on Iran's nuclear capabilities, stating that they were executed with such intensity and speed that Iran was unable to relocate its nuclear materials. He referenced an Israeli Atomic Energy Commission report, which claimed that the American strikes had significantly set back Iran's ability to develop nuclear weapons. Trump emphasized that the operation not only weakened Iran's nuclear ambitions but also reinforced the credibility of American deterrence.

Looking ahead, Trump announced that negotiations with Iran are scheduled for the following week, with the possibility of signing a deal.
