Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index started Thursday at 9,426.84 points, marking a slight increase of 0.09% or 8.32 points compared to the previous closing.

According to Anadolu Agency, on Wednesday, the BIST 100 index had dropped by 0.32%, closing at 9,418.52 points, with a daily transaction volume recorded at 78.3 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $1.97 billion. As of 10:20 local time (0720GMT) on Thursday, the exchange rates were noted at 39.7760 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 46.6980 to the euro, and 54.7990 to the British pound.

In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $3,340.40, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.60 per barrel.
