Madrid: Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that he met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Madrid to discuss critical issues surrounding military aid, drone production, and Ukraine's potential accession to the European Union.

According to Anadolu Agency, Shmyhal expressed gratitude towards Spain in a Telegram post, highlighting the 'comprehensive support' that has surpassed £2 billion ($2.3 billion). He noted the significant impact of Spanish air defense systems in intercepting Russian missile and drone attacks. Shmyhal emphasized Ukraine's interest in further defense collaboration, particularly in acquiring more air defense systems and initiating joint production of drones and other military technologies.

Additionally, the discussions included Ukraine's post-war recovery efforts. Shmyhal underscored the importance of confiscated frozen Russian assets as a 'key financial resource' for rebuilding the nation. He further mentioned Ukraine's anticipation of a political decision regarding the commencement of EU accession talks by the year's end.
