World Peace Hinges on Truth and Justice, Says Trkiye’s Communications Director

Ankara: World peace requires a global understanding based on truth and justice, Trkiye's Communications Director said on Wednesday. "For the peace and tranquility of the world, it is essential for an understanding that centers on truth and justice to prevail globally," Fahrettin Altun stated at the Trkiye-China Media Forum organized by Trkiye's Communications Directorate in Ankara.

According to Anadolu Agency, Altun emphasized the historical foundation of Turkish-Chinese relations, which have long been based on mutual respect, cooperation, and cultural closeness. He pointed out that this relationship, reminiscent of the ancient Silk Road, is now gaining new strength in media and communication.

Altun highlighted that Trkiye is actively working towards peace and prosperity for all, using its stabilizing influence. He remarked that Trkiye has taken responsibility in recent crises by hosting diplomatic meetings and peace negotiations, with the primary goal of having truth and justice prevail in every field. Achieving this, he noted, requires fairer representation in international communication and diplomacy.

He also addressed the importance of creating a disinformation-resistant global media structure, where all voices can be heard, as a key to global peace. Altun discussed the challenges presented by new communication technologies, such as disinformation and digital polarization, which he described as a common problem for the global public.

He stressed the necessity of prioritizing trust, accuracy, and responsibility in media ethics to combat the destruction of truth. Altun advocated for multilateral cooperation, experience sharing, and international media solidarity to address these issues.

The Trkiye-China Media Forum, he explained, is being developed as a platform that serves the common interests of the global media community, emphasizing the importance of sharing experiences and information with strategic partners like China. Altun concluded by noting that Trkiye and China have the potential to collaborate not only economically but also in civilization-based endeavors.
